I wrote up some thoughts on how we (Sentry) have approached open source. I think we have a compelling story given that we’re in a rare situation of being a very widely used open source project, but also an established business. Both of which run on the same codebase, and are completely free (BSD licensed).
Would be interested to hear people’s feedback, as I know the topic of funding open source has been a pretty active one lately.
