Can changing the sample rate potentially affect the whole Sentry instance? is this the cause?

Hmm… in that case something is wrong… and I don’t know what it is… what is the most rigorous approach to debugging sentry on AWS?
Really depends on how you installed it. I’d start with checking Kafka and Relay logs and go from there.
